You acknowledge that to successfully apply to our database, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resisted, or otherwise be legally allowed to work in Canada. You must also be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the date of applying. You, the applicant must be physically and mentally fit for the position you are applying for. You must have no criminal conviction(s) for which a pardon has not been granted. You must also possess the two (2) minimum certificates: 1. WHMIS training and 2. Introduction to H2S training. More information on requirements and certificates can be found on our Web Site (soes.ca). Other requirements may apply. Additional certificates are welcomed.

Each employment assignment or placement arising as a result of an introduction made by SOES will be subject to our standard Terms of Business. All applicants for our database must agree with our Terms of Business, prior to joining our database. All applicants and users of this Web Site (soes.ca) have acknowledged our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. It is the user's and applicant's responsibility to read and understand our agreements (Terms of Business, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy). If you do not agree and accept our agreements (Terms of Business, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy) you may not use this Web Site nor submit an application to our database. By submitting an application you acknowledge you have read and understood all our agreements (Terms of Business, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy). All prospective applicants for whom we arrange placements will be provided with a copy of the Terms of Business applicable to them at registration.

The amount of personal information you are required to supply will normally be limited to that which is necessary to supply the services you requested. SOES strives to keep your personally identifiable information accurate. We will give you the ability to review and update the personal information you have provided. You are solely responsible for any information submitted by you to this site. You are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied by you is true, accurate, up-to-date and not misleading or likely to mislead or deceive and that it is not discriminatory, obscene, offensive, defamatory or otherwise illegal, unlawful or in breach of any applicable legislation, regulations, guidelines or codes of practice or the copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights of any person in any jurisdiction. You are also responsible for ensuring that all information, data and files are free of viruses or other routines or engines that may damage or interfere with any system or data prior to being submitted to this site. We reserve the right to remove any information supplied by you from the website at our sole discretion, at any time and for any reason without being required to give any explanation. Personal data that is collected from you will be retained or destroyed according to company requirements and/or local laws.

SOES will keep the profile you create on our website and all the personal data you provided in the recruitment process for two (2) years from the time you agreed to our services and you supplied to us a complete profile. Your application will be removed from our database upon expiry at the end of two years, unless renewed by you. Upon renewal you might have to supply us with new certificates. Your application will be disabled if your certificates expire.

You understand that SOES does not guarantee you a job. Upon successfully entering our database potential employers/clients might or might not offer you a job/position.

You understand and agree to allow SOES to provide you with a job/position with one of our clients. You understand that your contract can be terminated by SOES at any time during the first eight (8) working weeks without advance notice and with or without a reason.

You understand that nothing contained in this application or in the granting of an interview creates a contract between SOES and yourself for either employment nor for the provision of any benefits. If an employment relationship is established, you acknowledge that no consideration has been furnished to SOES for your employment other than your services, and you understand you have a right to terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause, and that SOES reserves the same right.

You authorize SOES to display your personal information, that you have provided to us and post it at SOES' website (www.soes.ca). You agree and accept that any employer/person may access the Web Site. You waive any and all claims you have or may have against SOES as a result of any loss you may incur, as an outcome of your information being displayed on the Web Site (www.soes.ca).

SOES may, at any time and for any reason and in its discretion: (a) change, suspend or terminate, temporarily or permanently, the Web Site or any part of it; or (b) restrict, suspend or terminate (in whole or in part) your permission to access or use the Web Site; all without any notice or liability to you or any other person. If this Agreement or your permission to access or use the Web Site is terminated by you, or by a person you represent, or by SOES, then: (a) this Agreement and all other then existing agreements between SOES and any persons you represent will continue to apply and be binding upon you and any persons you represent, jointly and severally, regarding your prior access to and use of the Web Site, and anything connected with, relating to or arising therefrom; and (b) SOES may continue to use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Web Site Privacy Policy as amended from time to time. SOES does not accept any liability for your use of the Web Site.

SOES and the affiliates and providers will not under any circumstances be liable to you or any other person for any loss of use, loss of production, loss of income or profits (anticipated or otherwise), loss of markets, economic loss, special, incidental, indirect or consequential loss or damage or exemplary or punitive damages, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or under any other theory of law or equity, arising from, connected with, or relating to the use of the web site, including your application to our database, by you or any other person, and regardless of any negligence or other fault or wrongdoing by SOES or any affiliate or provider or any person for whom SOES or an affiliate or provider may be responsible, and notwithstanding that SOES or any affiliate or provider may have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damages being incurred by you or any other person.

You hereby release, remise and forever discharge each of SOES and the affiliates and providers and all of their respective franchisees, partners, agents, directors, officers, employees, information providers, service providers, suppliers, subcontractors, licensors and licensees, and all other related, associated, or connected persons from any and all manner of rights, claims, complaints, demands, causes of action, proceedings, liabilities, obligations, legal fees, costs, and disbursements of any nature and kind whatsoever and howsoever arising, whether known or unknown, which now or hereafter exist, which arise from, relate to, or are connected with your use of the web site. You acknowledge and agree this agreement represents a fair allocation of risk and liability.

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed to be severed from the rest of this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. Any claim or cause of action you may have arising from, connected with, or relating to your use of the Web Site, this Agreement, or any related matter must be commenced within six (6) months after the claim or cause of action arises, after which time the claim or cause of action is forever barred, regardless of any statue or law to the contrary. SOES' maximum liability arising out of or in connection with any SOES Web Site or your use of the SOES content, regardless of the cause of action (whether in contract, tort, breach of warranty or otherwise), will not exceed $100. The parties have expressly requested and required that this Agreement and all other related documents be drawn up in the English language.

Canada has the world's 2nd-largest proven crude oil reserves. Most reserves are in Alberta's oil sands - approximately 173 billion barrels.

In 2006, Alberta exported about 1.35 million barrels per day of crude oil to the U.S., supplying 13 per cent of their crude oil import and accounting for almost three-quarters of Canada's oil exports to the U.S.

Oil sands accounts for more than two-thirds of investment in the province. $100 billion worth of oil sands investment generates approximately $1 trillion worth of economic activity.

In 2005, Alberta produced about 13.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day, and 5 trillion cubic feet per year. That is almost 80% of Canada's natural gas.
